SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT

Cucamonga Elementary School

By Principal Dr. Jenna Garretson-Tremayne

We had a wonderful time celebrating Earth Day at school this week! Our students truly embodied the spirit of environmental stewardship through a variety of engaging activities.

We kicked off the day with an inspiring EcoHero Assembly, reminding us all of the small changes we can make to protect our planet. Students proudly wore blue and green to honor Earth, planted seeds, participated in meaningful read-alouds, and expressed their creativity through Earth Day crafts.

In a hands-on effort to care for our campus, many students volunteered to collaborate on projects such as pulling weeds and cleaning up outdoor areas—gloves on and smiles wide! Their work not only supports our native plants but also shows the power of young people taking initiative.

Through these activities, students strengthened key components of our District Portrait of a Graduate—especially Social Understanding and Initiative. They learned that caring for our planet is a shared responsibility that impacts us all.

Thank you for supporting our commitment to learning, growing, and giving back to the world around us!
