SUPERINTENDENT'S WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
3/13.2026

Dear CSD Families,

As we wrap up another wonderful week in our district, we are excited to share some of the amazing accomplishments of our students. Our school community continues to shine, and we are incredibly proud of the creativity, dedication, and hard work displayed across all of our schools.

At Thursday night’s Board Meeting, we had the special opportunity to recognize students who were selected as finalists in our District Reading Fair. Students created projects inspired by books they have read, and the projects showcased incredible creativity, thoughtful reading connections, and a true love of reading.  All students recognized this week received a Certificate of Achievement along with a Barnes & Noble gift card to celebrate their hard work and encourage their continued love of reading and learning.

We are also grateful for the wonderful turnout at the Board Meeting. We truly appreciate the strong support from our families and community. Nearly every student who was recognized attended the celebration, making the evening even more special.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our school librarians, Marion Castro from Cucamonga Elementary School, Veronica Haro from Los Amigos Elementary School, Monica Sapp from THE ONTARIO CENTER SCHOOL and Elisa Daste from Rancho Cucamonga Middle School, for their dedication, passion, and commitment to literacy. We are grateful for the meaningful learning experiences they create for our students every day.

We are incredibly proud of these students and grateful to our teachers and staff who continue to inspire and support them every day.

Thank you, families, for your continued partnership in supporting our students. We wish everyone a safe and wonderful weekend.

Don't forget to complete the LCAP survey!

Take care,

Michael Chaix, Ed.D.

SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT

Rancho Cucamonga Middle School

By Principal Bobby Collins

RCMS students learn to thrive and excel on campus in both their academic work and their social interactions. However, we love it when our students push themselves to make an impact beyond the walls of our school site. Last week, we saw two fantastic examples of this.

First, our PAL program students invited the 1st grade students from Cucamonga Elementary School to our campus. The middle school students led their younger friends in several rotations of games, activities, and even a dance party! It was great to see the first graders getting their first taste of the middle school campus and awesome to see how our RCMS students flexed their leadership skills, working with the younger kids. Kudos to Mrs. Hill and Ms. Sanchez for their work to make this experience happen.

Also, a few of our 6th grade students competed at the county level this last weekend at “History Day”. History Day is an interdisciplinary program sponsored by the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools that encourages students to research and prepare exhibits, performances, documentaries, websites, posters, and podcasts on an annual historical theme. This year, Nia Franco, Kapri Jimenez, and Santiago Alvarez received honorable mentions. Emilia Autry received 2nd place in the documentary category. Congratulations to our students for their outstanding work, and to Mr. Jones for spearheading the program here at RCMS.
