Dear Cucamonga Families and Community,

I am excited to share some outstanding news about the growth, learning, and progress happening across the Cucamonga School District!

According to a recent analysis of California's state assessment results published by Education Data Center (EDC) on Substack, Cucamonga School District ranked among the top districts in the state for academic growth in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics.

Among California school districts testing more than 1,000 students in Grades 3–8, our children achieved remarkable results:

  • English Language Arts (ELA): Cucamonga ranked 3rd in the state (tied) with a 4.2 percentage-point increase in students meeting or exceeding state standards.
  • Mathematics: Cucamonga ranked 2nd in the state with a 5.5 percentage-point increase in students meeting or exceeding state standards.

While standardized test scores are just one tool for measuring progress, these gains reflect something much bigger: our children are gaining the core reading, math, and thinking skills that unlock their full potential and prepare them for the future.

Public education is a true partnership, and this success belongs to our entire community. It is made possible by:

  • Dedicated Teachers and Staff who create engaging, supportive, and motivating learning environments every day.
  • Supportive Families who partner with our schools to encourage learning at home and in the community.
  • Our Inspiring Children who show up each day with curiosity, resilience, and a drive to learn and grow.

As we continue our work with our Portrait of a Graduate, we remain committed to preparing every student for real life in the real world. Strong academic foundations in reading and math empower our young people to develop essential life skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and adaptability—so they are ready for whichever path they choose after graduation.

We have so much to celebrate, and even more to look forward to! Thank you to our entire Cucamonga family for your continued partnership and investment in our children’s future. Great things are happening in Cucamonga!

Take care,
Michael Chaix, Ed.D.
